Sevigny Goes Down For Gallo |
||
| Movie crtic Roger Ebert said he'd rather watch his own colonoscopy than sit through Vincent Gallo's "Brown Bunny", which debuted at the Cannes Film Festival to similar feelings from just about everyone. That comment started a war of words between critisc and actor-director Vincent Gallo, the man behind Brown Bunny. But whether the film is good or bad is beside the point. It features a scene in which ç gives Gallo oral sex for 10 minutes, marking the first time a mainstream American actresses has performed anything like that on film. This fellacio scene made Brown Bunny the talk of Cannes, leaving everyone wondering why an actress who'd appeared in an Academy Award nominated film, Boys Don't Cry, would do such a thing. In an interview with IFCRant, a magazine on indie filmmaking, Sevigny defends the scene, describing it as "very tender and it's not gratuitous. He's a great actor and a great filmmaker. I knew it would be well done. I've known him since I was 17. ... We were intimate when I was younger a little bit, so I feel so comfortable with him. I could trust him 100 percent." Unfortunately, the film is so bad it is unlikely you will see it up and Sevigny's hard work (pardon the pun) will never see the light of day. |
